I dont
know about you, but when I'm in a book shop I can spend ages, picking
up, flicking through, discarding, picking up, discarding or just
picking up flicking through, again and again.
When I came across
this book I flicked through in curiosity.. But was instantly memorised
by the sheer beauty, of its contents. Irresistible!
This book is an exhibition of work by 40 international illustrators. Each illustrator has thier unique work displayed with minimal text, sympathetic to the piece itself. The different ways in which the human form is analysed appraised, manipulated and translated is phenomenal. Each artists interpretation of the form, space, colour, beauty, the grotesque is different and inspiring.
Finally the icing on the cake is the end of the book: where we are given biographies and a self portrait of each illustrator. Very nice!
