From my experience Canon digital cameras in general are the most reliable and best made, saying that I'm sure you're standard 1980s SLR will last you much longer than any branded digital camera will today!
The first digital camera I bought was the Canon ixus 500. A 5 mega-pixel camera with 30 second recording capabilty... WOW !! It was a dream .. The pictures were the best I'd seen, brilliant colours, sharpe images, enough optical zoom to land a space craft.. and all it was, was a playing around camera.. For holidays, parties, bar mitzvah's.. it was perfect.
However as with all good things in my life at that time ... I mananged to lose it..:(
So I left it a few years till I plucked up the courage to buy the new CANON IXUS 850.. Exactly the same feeling only slightly smaller! We were back! However this time with its 7.1 Megapixel, 3.8x optical zoom its been put to good use in and out of the studio taking quality "shoot" shots as well as still life shots for clients.
The cameras controls and main options are simple and straightforward which means even novices can look professional. dont tell my boss:)..
But.. but...does it look good?.. It has a stylish two-tone semi-matt metallic colour (nice!) and its rounded body has no protruding edges, which will integrate with anyones new-look apple fashions.
In four words: It’s a beautiful machine!
