We are fortunate to have an incredibly talented team
As well as being gifted in the fields of graphic, logo and web design, many of our designers are extremely motivated by music and the movements behind it. With several DJ's, musicians and performers within our midst, its bound to be an eclectic mix.
Here at a fish in sea, we enjoy a friendly working atmosphere. We enjoy what we do and having a good play list helps to inspire, relieve the tension and keep us motivated.
Part of this is the music we have playing in the office. Just as graphic design is subjective, so is musical taste! Some seem to have better taste than others! However, an eclectic mix is, most of the time, a good thing!
As this seems to be the time of awards, we thought it only right to join in the fun and give our personal views on the stuff we are listening to at the moment.
We can honestly recommend the following...
Portishead - Dummy
I believe sweetness will decay, pain and fear are real and surreal. Beth Gibbon's fragile and haunting vocal, works perfectly with dark backing instrumentation, scratch from old film soundtracks, feels like a little girl's ghost, restlessly wandering in a world that she doesn't belong to... This is an album that can send chills down your spine!

Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero
This is an amazing assortment of Trent Reznor's work. He is definitely making music ahead of our time. You can listen to this album again and again and still find something new every time you listen. So many different elements fluidly mixed together: dance, funk, pop, rock, electronica, metal, industrial, etc. There are countless artists experiment with mixing diverse elements to create something cool, but not many can achieve something as powerful and innovative as Trent did. Just like the name: Nine Inch Nails: absolutely painful and beautiful. The original CD is heat sensitive: the black label will turn into white when you play it for 40 seconds and reveals a secret message!

Jeff Buckley - Grace
It must take a deeply hurt soul to generate music like his. This album is captivating, enchanting, and stunning. When I first listened to this album, I was shocked to realise: I have missed such a fascinating thing! The melancholy and desperation in his voice is so intense, takes you along Jeff's lost journey and you might forget where you are and what you are for a while...

King Crimson - Red
Difficult to give the name of their best album, each one is full of creativity and they are still creating, but the last song of this one (Starless) is just amazing.

Goran Bregovic - Tales and songs from weddings and funerals
Popular balkan music, sometimes very rock, sometimes very traditional, but always world music, everything perfectly scripted, he is a conductor...and have a look at his shoes if you see him in concert with his 40 musicians!

The Gotan Project - La Revancha del Tango
Well, I'd never heard of this group before until Nico slyly popped it on play the other day in the office. I was really intrigued by the way this Paris based trio mix the traditional sounds of tango and Argentinean instrumentation. The amalgamation of acoustic and electronic works really well and creates such a funky atmosphere I know Geoff would be green with envy!! The album incorporates tango, house, dub and hip-hop with a great range of instruments including the bandonion, violin and vocals (Spanish and French). I really sat up and took notice when I heard Época (track 2) mainly because it was once used as a soundtrack for a very cool advert for Boots Last Christmas. I've nicked the whole album and even put a couple of tracks on my phone too!

Rogue Traders - Here Come The Drums
It's Izzy from Neighbours!!
I'd first noticed this band when I heard Voodoo Child played as the background music to Pete Bennetts 'best bits' on Big Brother 2006 final. It's such a cool song and you cant help but move to it. Very girly shouty power Australian electro pop, sounds a bit like Republica and Sneaker Pimps. Got quite a punky crunch to it, and brings out the dirty diva in me so I love it....

Lemon Jelly-The Triptych (3 CDS)
What a corker!! I love this album, Its chilled, trippy and funky all in one... Its so good for tidying my room, chilling out reading my book, sitting in drinking lots of red wine with my mates on a school night!! Fred Deakin - half of Lemon Jelly, has really chosen some good tracks. The design is all by Deakin too and includes a 20 pg booklet with a note from Deakin on why he chose each track.
